Is it possible to (PPTP VPN) Related

I already know the correct answer to this question is to establish a site to site IPSEC vpn tunnel. Lets leave that aside and assume for a moment that its not going to be possible. Also, I'd like to note that the following is attempting to work around incompetence at the other end and not against any policy in place at either end the network.
 

I have a pptp vpn connection account credential to connect to an affiliate network for the purpose of accessing a web server there. What I'd really like is a site to site vpn, but that's not possible. Is it possible to set up software client pptp and bridge the networks, then configure a route pointing to the bridge for accessing this remote network address. In the end this ends up emulating the site to site VPN I otherwise need. I have a couple of choices for device, microsoft virtual server anything, Linux server anything, or a Cisco 1800 series router.
